WESTERDAM

7 DAY ALASKAN EXPLORER CRUISE FROM SEATTLE

Beauty and adventure await you. Departing from Seattle's beautiful Puget Sound on Saturday August 27, 2011 to the Gulf of Alaska, scenic beauty surrounds you for the whole of this Alaska Cruise itinerary. This north bound sailing route will give you ample opportunities to see the wonders of whales and watch the native birds which flourish along the tidewater glaciers as they come into view. Discover Wrangell-St. Elias, North America's largest national park and experience the colossal Hubbard Glacier and the St. Elias Mountain Range. Take a dogsled adventure in Juneau, visit the Tingit native culture in Sitka, fly over Misty Fjords in Ketchikan and visit Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia. Set your adventurous spirit free on our Alaskan Explorer cruise vacation.

The unique itinerary of our ALASKA EXPLORER CRUISE offers you the opportunity to experience our 49th state, ALASKA. We will assist you in making flight arrangements to and from Seattle as well as any pre and post cruise hotel accommodations. We highly recommend flying into Seattle at least one day prior to your cruise aboard Holland America Line's WESTERDAM sailing from Seattle on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Flying in early will give you the opportunity to get a good nights rest prior to sailing and to avoid any possible airline delays that frequently happen, and which can cause you to miss your cruise. The WESTERDAM awaits your arrival for embarkation on Saturday afternoon August 27, 2011 and a 4:00PM sailing. Arriving at the Seattle Pier around noon will allow you ample time to check in at the cruise terminal and to familiarize yourself with your new home for the week aboard the WESTERDAM prior to sailing. Upon sailing from Seattle you will be cruising through Puget Sound and past Vancouver Island, Canada's largest island, before entering the Alaska Inside Passage Way.

You can expect to view some of the most unbelievable Glaciers on this planet as we sail to Hubbard Glacier located in the Wrangell-St. Elias national park. The onboard naturalist will point out all of the present wildlife as we sail northbound to our first port of call, Juneau the current capitol of Alaska which was the scene of the Alaska Gold Rush over 100 years ago. Next port of call is Sitka which, for 126 years, was the capitol of Czarist Russia's new world outpost. Then you are onto Ketchikan where you will have the opportunity to view the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show as seen on ESPN-TV. At your last port of call, Victoria, British Columbia on Vancouver Island, is where you will find Butchart Gardens one of the most magnificent floral gardens and landscaped grounds one could ever imagine. If this is not enough excitement, there are the numerous activities, lounges and shows aboard your floating resort, the WESTERDAM.
